1) Choose a literary work where geography plays a significant role and analyze that role in the work. Basically, how will understanding the geography give the reader a better understanding of the text as a whole.
2) Much in the same way geography functions in the background of the text, choose a different work from the first and look at how the seasons are a larger reflection of what is happening in the story. Choose a literary work and explain the symbolic significance of the season(s) to that work.

Geography In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, geography plays an important role, in the story set in Long Island, New York, where he mentions the East Egg, West Egg, New York City, as well as the Valley of Ashes. Both East Egg and the West Egg represent wealthy areas, but the former is related to “old money” upper class people, while West Egg is linked to “new money” people (Fitzgerald, 1925).
