Parachutes have, for a long time, been used for different purposes ranging from recreation to military-related duties. Parachute use to prevent death and major trauma related to gravitational challenge: systematic review of randomized controlled trials, is a study by Gordon Smith and Jill Pell that investigates the effectiveness of parachutes in preventing significant injuries associated with a gravitational challenge. The authors relied on data they retrieved from several other studies related to the subject. Results from the survey indicated a lack of documented studies that showed test runs to determine whether parachutes were suitable for use. Control trials are the most reliable way of winning the trust of consumers.
