Introduction
The question as to whether men and women are speaking the same language has been there for many years. The other that has always been asked consistently alongside this question is as to whether men and women can really communicate. Since the early 1990s, a certain new interest has been developed in these questions. In such for answers for these questions there have been many psychological and self-help books that have been written and majority of these books portray men and women as strange beings, and the communication among them is merely a catalogue of misunderstandings. Some of the notable and successful authors that have written about this topic on communication between men and women are Deborah Tannen and John Gray. Deborah Tannen has written a book entitled “You Just Don’t Understand” and John Gray has written a book known as Men Are From Mars, Women are from Venus (Cameron,2007).

I was able to observe how men and women who are in the age of twenty five years and how they are communicating. I was able to observe that there many differences between men and biologically and even biologically, it would not be surprising to realize that men and women do communicate and listen differently. Understanding men and women are communicating with one another can really help in building relationships and even marriages. To begin with, when it comes to listening by both men and women are doing it differently. Naturally, men are problem solvers and this can be witnessed in the way they receive the information. Consequently, men would more often than not make decision quickly so as to solve a problem. On the contrary, women tend to listen and note the information mentally of the context of the issue and also data points.
Where the Observation Took Place
The observation took place during a conference that was attended by both men and women who were twenty five years and above. During the conference I was able to observe that women tend to listen with a lot of attention. This kind of listening has enabled women to use their gathered point of reference to come up with different solutions to the problem in question before they settled on their desired course of action.
