The Victorian era was the period of Queen Victoria's ruling. During this era, there were three classes in the community which included the upper, middle and working classes.
The upper class consisted of the wealthy families who had authority over the other classes. They also had better living conditions as compared to the rest of the classes. This class came up as a result of the aristocratic families who had taken an interest in the industrial sector. They made a fortune out of it, and, as a result, of the improved levels of living standards the traditional families were disappearing and being replaced by a new class of wealthy individuals. The families belong to the royal class whereby their generations did not have to work because they had enough wealth. However, some of the members managed the shipping and mining industries. Also, the upper-class individuals have access to the best education by hiring private tutors because they could afford anything that was beyond the scope of the other classes.
At the beginning of the Victorian era, the middle class was composed of a few people, but as the industrial revolution continued to take place, that class increased in population. Although they were not as rich as the members of the upper class, they managed and owned various business empires. Also, the job opportunities brought about by the industrial revolution made the lives of the middle-class people better, hence enabling their children to get a good education as compared to the working class individuals. As well, they had good living conditions.
