How might purchasing policies and procedures differ as the dealerships purchase different types of service parts and materials (for example, lubricants versus genuine GM parts)?
There is supposed to be an obvious difference when it comes to the procedures and policies for purchasing the various products. The company has to pay more focus on matters to do with all the tenets that would affect after sales services and subsequent customer relations that comes thereafter. These tenets include quality, pricing as well as delivery. When such procedures are handled in the best and most professional of manners, then there is some level of certainty that the customers would be satisfied. The purchasing policy might be adjusted by simply cutting down on the number of suppliers and then narrowing down on just a few, possibly one.
