Having a baby is one of the best things that could happen to every woman. Because it is so important that infants receive the best nutrition as they grow and develop, parents, carers, and medical professionals all have significant concerns about the nutrition and health of babies. The two primary infant feeding methods, breast milk and formula, have been extensively debated and compared, each having advantages and cons. Each of the two approaches has advantages and disadvantages. After reviewing the benefits of breast milk versus formula and the history of baby feeding in America, we will argue that breast milk is the superior choice for infants. The foundation of this argument will be three auxiliary concepts that will be thoroughly discussed using the sandwich method.
The Rise of Formula Milk
These days, because of the development of equipment that makes it simple to prepare formula milk, the history of newborn feeding in America has changed considerably over time. Initially, breastfeeding predominated, but as societal mores and medical advances developed, formula feeding became more common (Leafe, 2022). Due to the influence of the formula industry and the perception that it was more "up to date" and "studied," to say, throughout the middle of the 20th century, formula feeding became the most popular option (Smith, n.d.). However, there has been a renaissance in breastfeeding advocacy in recent years, with medical professionals promoting its many advantages.
Nevertheless, as mentioned earlier, breast milk is still the best option for newborn feeding since it is all-natural and provides minerals and nutrients that cannot be found in formula milk in light of the available research and evidence. This argument stems from the fact that breastfeeding fosters a child's immune system, strengthens the mother-child attachment, and provides unmatched nutritional benefits. We shall now delve deeper into these three sustaining concepts.
