Gender inequality is a common challenge across the world. In many public and private organizations, gender gap pay remains significant. In some organizations, women are not allowed to occupy higher positions, such as managerial (University of Pittsburgh, 2020). However, with the growing changes across the world, people are now feeling these changes and are demanding improvement. Recently, I researched a topic that requested to know whether female construction workers should be paid the same salary as the male construction workers. In the study, I selected a sample size of 15 people, who were my roommates.
After the completion of the study, I analyzed the collected responses from the audience. Nine members from the sampled audience were familiar with the problem and felt that women should be paid the same salary as men as long as they are doing the same task. Three of the members felt that women should not work and should stay back at home and look after their children. They believed that women's responsibilities are meant to be at home, and men should work and provide for them. Additionally, two of the members felt that women are weak and have fewer responsibilities, and should be paid less than men.
Having these data, I decided to conduct a persuasive speech to my audience. The primary purpose of the speech will be to make the viewers realize that women deserve the same pay as men as long as they are doing the same work.
