Coronavirus disease that is also known as COVID-19 started in Wuhan China and coronavirus likely originated from bats (Readfearn, 2020). The COVID-19 originated from bats then spread to pangolin and later humans. The spread of the coronavirus from bats, wild pangolin, and humans makes it difficult to find the right treatment. The wet market in Wuhan, China provided an easy spread of coronavirus from bats to the wild pangolin. Live animals are sheltered and slaughtered in the same location making it possible for the spread of different viruses. According to Readfearn (2020), the virus is spread from one animal to another through body fluids such as blood. Viruses can spread to circulate in the animal kingdom making virus infection a serious health issue. For the case of coronavirus, pangolin acted as the intermediary in virus spreading from bat and humans. The consumption of wild pangolins from Wuhan China contributed to the spread of coronavirus. The lack of treatment and vaccine for COVID-19 has caused health problems in many nations.

COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that is transmitted by the mucus of an infected individual. The coughing and sneezing of an individual at close ranges spread the coronavirus disease. The infected people emit the coronavirus in surfaces which is later transmitted to an individual that touches the surface. A person coming into contact with a coronavirus infected surface and touching eyes, mouth, and nose. The respiratory droplets from an infected individual have contributed to the rapid spread of COVID-19 to different nations. The respiratory droplets contact an individual directly or indirectly by touching an infected surface.
The symptomatic, pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic people infected with coronavirus can transmit the disease to other people (World Health Organization, 2020). Symptomatic transmission occurs when a person with symptoms of COVID-19 transmits the disease to other people. COVID-19 patients contaminate different objects and surfaces causing the spread of the disease. Pre-symptomatic transmission is when a person is exposed to the virus and without showing any signs and symptoms spreads the disease (Readfearn, 2020). During the incubation period of COVID-19, the infected persons transmit the disease to other people. Asymptomatic transmission is the spread of the virus from a person that does not develop any signs and symptoms of COVID-19. The infectious droplets cause the fast spread of COVID-19 to different people.

COVID-19 has signs and symptoms that are similar to different respiratory diseases. The disease has an incubation period that a person does not show signs and symptoms. The incubation period of coronavirus stays for 5 to 14 days. Coronavirus affects the lungs and airways of patients. The symptoms change from mild to severe depending on the infection level. The common symptoms of coronavirus are fever, tiredness, dry cough, pains, nasal congestion, sore throat, and diarrhea (World Health Organization, 2020).
