After Coronavirus History Essay Research Coursework
Hi Class,
The last reading for this semester is in the attachment. I will also post it on our discussion board and you are welcome to post your comments under it.
We are not only in a pandemic, but also in the middle of protests against government’s lockdown. Just read a news about the protest from Colorado :
a woman in a USA shirt leaning out of the passenger window of a pickup truck and shouting at the health workers. She was holding a sign that said, "Land of the Free".
"Land of the free. Go to China if you want communism," she said to the person standing in front of her.
The article also raises an important question: the government has to take strong measures to contain the spread of the virus. Be that as it may, could the government become too intrusive? How should we balance our personal freedom against our collective safety?
The fact is that more than 40,000 Americans have died from corvid-19 and the death toll is still growing, at pace of about 1,800 a day. If our public order cannot be well maintained, I wonder if there is going to be the second wave of the pandemic. On the other hand, we do have many constitutional issues to consider. Hope we have a meaningful discussion or debate on this matter.

I agree with the global cooperation plan, which he mentioned should be embraced by all nations to share information in times of crisis such as this.
I agree with several items mentioned in the article, but would be cautious about declaring my full support to the measures. I am more interested in information gathering and surveillance. Mobile phones fastened our communication, and will s...
