An Analysis of Thematic Short Stories
The Doll’s House by Katherine Mansfield is one of the two thematic short stories about the innocence of childhood. It is a stance on the poisoning of innocent children and the stereotypical hatred for the lower class. Through the art of characterization, plot, and rhetorical strategies she develops the emotional response from the reader for the innocence of childhood and how difficult things are more impactful on this age (Gale, 2015). These thematic stories truly reflect that compassion is one of the basic needs of children in any society (Steinman, 1990). Besides, whenever they are confused about the world around them, it is the responsibility of adults to clarify their views and answer their questions to remove the poignancy that otherwise might lead them to nervousness. Kathrine Mansfield, in a gloomy and hopeless mood, conveys the underestimation of the social norms of treating lower classes. She uses rich imagery of animals like cats....
