Excerpt from Islam
From (Q. 2:155-157), the scripture says that man will be tested with something of fear, hunger, and loss of wealth and fruits but give tidings to the patient who, when at times of disaster, believes that Allah will return them. Those kinds of people are upon which the blessings and mercy of the Lord lay. Also, those are the people that are rightly guided. In this scripture, the theme of patience comes out. Allah is communicating with human beings that they need to show patience at all costs, even at times of disaster. This verse highlights that the life of a human being is a temporary realm, and one must face challenges on the way.
Additionally, the verse stresses that true everlasting peace is with God in the afterlife, more so to those who respect his commands and follow them accordingly. It is a verse that is well applicable during times of death. When someone is dead, a Muslim will be heard quoting that indeed we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. This scripture on personal experience was helpful during my times when I had no source of income as I had lost my job. However, I remained patient while hoping that one day Allah will reward me as the scripture states that blessings and mercy lie upon on those who will abide by Allah’s commands.

According to The Atharva Veda scripture, “you should not be led by others, always awaken your mind and amass your own experience.” Additionally, the scripture states that one should decide for themselves their path. This scripture teaches believers that they should be motivated by their own experience and not copying from others. They should have a sense of direction in their life where they make their choices because preferences differ from one person to the other. The theme of this scripture is self-motivation. Self-motivation on a personal perspective, is a combination of power, goals, and the ability to attain the highest level of success sustainably. The scripture also cuts across explaining the need for self-esteem; one should have a clear path to achieve goals. On a personal experience, the scripture was quite useful when I was still at school, and I was not doing well in some subjects. I, however, did not give up as I tried as much as possible to self-motivate when attending my library sessions.
