Academic Work in Proposed Field & Goals for Professional Career

This is a personal statement for my graduate school application and the program I am applying to is the online Master of Computer Science of the University of Illinois. I had a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and minor in Mathematics from James Madison University and want to continue my studies in Computer Science.
I want to show my great interest in Data Science and my passion for learning and programming. My focus in my undergraduate was on web development, but after finishing my minor in math and especially several statistics courses with the experience of R programming I gained great interested in data analysis.
For my senior project, I built a teaching assistant management system for our department of computer science. Since I was a teaching assistant, there wasn't a useful management tool for both TAs or students. When TAs get sick, they usually could not find an efficient way to ask for a cover for their shift. Students could neither find the correct information for the TAs' schedule. So I used the MERN stack, React.js for the front end, Express.js and MongoDB for the back end, to build a management system to allow TAs to request or take a cover, and students can get live status about what's going on in the lab for today and this week. What's more, students can queue for help, and chat in the live box to discuss their problems.
Over this summer, I joined JMU's venture creation program. As one of the startup companies, we built an application that centralized all the happy hour's information on restaurants and bars, so students can easily find a good place for their lunch or dinner. We used React Native to build our cross-platform application since we only got two developers at the beginning, and for the business portal we use React.js for the front end, and Express.js and MongoDB for the back end. You can still visit www(dot)radr(dot)city now, but the portal is only for restaurant owners.
After all, I want to show my ability to learn and desire to gain knowledge. Even though my GPA is not very high, but I have a great belief in myself.
