Earth democracy is a vibrant book that adds valuable information to the rising call for sustainable living. The author seeks justice for the environment and people at large. In summary, the book evaluates the privatization of natural resources, genetic food engineering, culture theft, and other effects that come with globalization and how they continually affect the environment and make the life of living things disposable. The author through this book raises legitimate concerns that are a huge benefit to the common person and the environment at large. Earth's democracy is all about equality and sustainability bringing about a healthy ecosystem and equal allocation of the resources. The essay will give a summary of the book, a critical analysis, how it relates to our daily experiences, and most importantly how the concepts of the book can apply to Northern Ontario.

As the economies pay attention to growing their wealth and global recognition they forget the most important economies with are nature and sustainability (Shiva, 2016, p14). Earth democracy advocates bring nature and people back into the picture and stopping the theft of resources. Chapter four is the most exciting evaluating living culture, which is the opposite of culture theft. Here cultures coexist harmoniously and the dominant does not step on the minority. Finally, the book puts the Earth democracy in action by giving examples of how it would be like if it adopted the view. The chapter advocates for taking back control ...
