Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis is the process of transformation from one thing to another, which occurs in many animal species, and this growth happens on the outside once the eggs have been fertilized. Each stage of the cycle is different from the other (Kafka & Johnston, 2008, p.67). Different duties are performed at different stages, and the adaptation is also different at each stage such that what the larvae feeds on is different from what the adult feeds on thus no challenge in the food supply.
Humans and other mammals undergo different changes inside the womb and are born after the gestation period is complete while animals that undergo metamorphisis hatch the egg externally and the development stages occur outside the body. Therefore, humans cannot metamorphise, since all development stages occur inside whereas animals that metamorphise, the growth after fertilization of the egg occurs outside.
The butterfly undergoes complete metamorphosis. This involves a life cycle of;

The egg is what is hatched by the female butterfly. This develops into larvae that feed on the leaves and stores for the next stages of maturity. As the caterpillar gathers enough for itself, the farmers suffer as their food crops are destroyed. The pupa grows into the adult who in turn is tasked with mating and laying eggs (Kafka & Johnston, 2008, p. 69).
The frog also undergoes metamorphosis.

The eggs hatch into tadpoles that start feeding on water weeds, such as algae. After some time, they develop legs and can feed better even on insects. Finally, they mature into frogs (Kafka & Johnston, 20...
