For many years juveniles have engaged in illegal behaviors and getting involved in street gangs. However, many have been asking themselves what makes them seek their involvement in such kind of groups. Numerous youths engage in these groups because they tend to seek recognition or acceptance by their peers or the entire society that will lead to their involvement in delinquent behavior (Mitchell et al. 2017). In a more general perspective is that these youth join street gangs to engage in bad behaviors such as drug smuggling so that they can gain some status in society and to their peers. Others join street gangs for protection because they feel the gang much protects them than when they are alone when they decide to engage in deviant behaviors. Therefore, juveniles join street gangs for both protection and involvement in delinquent behavior, but a bigger number join for them to get that chance to involve in such behaviors.
Street gangsters have some common similar social background in terms of the activities they do, their dress code, graffiti, and place of action. Many street gangsters engage in similar fraudulent activities, for example, intimidation, extortion, theft, assault, drug trafficking, shootings, and murder (Mitchell et al. 2017).
