Family And Medical Leave Act discriminates against the poor and single people because the condition attached to it, going for unpaid leave, is something both parties would consider unfair. As a result, because most poor individuals are deemed to rely on their income to support their family, a poor person cannot afford to take such a leave. Furthermore, single people are also discriminated against because they cannot take this leave because they do not have a family of their own (a marriage) to take the leave for. Thus, the Family and Medical Leave Act discriminates against the poor and single in most job fields.
