Revelation about the Possibility of Oppositional thinking in the new Soviet Union
Soviet Union of Socialist Republic became Soviet Union in 1992 where fifteen republics were ruled by a communist party. Later, the Soviet Union split up after Joseph Stalin who was the party leader and a dictator. There were possibilities of Oppositional thinking in the new Soviet Union. According to Gregory (2009), Lenin used to tolerate debates and arguments that highlighted the ability of the union to develop in to a more caring form of social democracy. The Decree about anti-Soviet grouping created a conference where empowered department of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were exile to Russia as a punishment. Operations against non-communist started after military officials were assigned the duty to review list of intellectuals to be punished.
Stalins’ ability to Rise and hold on to Power
Stalin developed his technique to rule which was called as Four Faces of Stalin. Faces of Stalinism were the economic, the cultural, political face and the social face. Economic face of Stalinism was Stalin’s major tool for his political goals. His system worked on dictate of ethics and did not rely on the market influence. His method used extensive economy to develop because he relied on adding more labor input to encourage the growth of the economy. Stalin used high level of social mobility. When members of USSR moved to higher positions in power, Stalin rebuild inheritance strategy by providing a new social organization.
