The group hijacked four airplanes and attacked the World Trade Centre, the Pentagon in Arlington, while another plane went down in Shanksville, Pennsylvania (Zegart, 2005). More than three thousand people were murdered in the 9/11 terrorist incident, making the United States implement new initiatives to fight terrorism.
