You will answer one (1) of the following questions in a coherent, organized essay. The essay should be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman 12-point font, one-inch margins on all sides, saved and uploaded to Blackboard as a Word or PDF document. It may be as short or long as you need it to be to answer the question, but it should not exceed four (4) double-spaced pages. Cite your sources as necessary.  Note that your essay will be submitted to SafeAssign, a plagiarism detection tool.

There were quite a number of things that really played a key role in the break out of the Civil War. First was the issue of abolition of slavery and secondly was the issue of secession. The South advocated for both of these issues, while the North was for the complete opposite. As a result, there seemed to be a tug of war between these two sides of the nation. Reflecting on John Brown’s statement, it is quite evident that the Civil War was almost inevitable due to the fact that it was a culmination of various events and a trigger to it all.
John Brown was more of an extremist on the issue of abolition of slavery. He disliked the slavery system with all his might and all he had, including his family. Due to his Christian background, he believed that any act he too against those who were for slavery, was an act that was in line with God’s will.
