Differences between Civilization in Mesopotamia, Egypt and India Valley
The three major civilizations in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Indus Valley were known for crop production and animal husbandry. However, they differed in terms of agricultural production, water management, and ecological production. As a result, this paper will delve into the ways by which civilization in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Indus Valley were different.
In Mesopotamia, there was centralized management of water because of the extensive irrigation process involved. This level of a large scale control system could only be possible if there was an existence of a high level of coordination, which the central authority enforced. The state was heavily involved in the management of water systems. In Egypt, the farmers dug canals that were used in watering crops. They also had built gates in the canals that were vital in controlling water flow. In Indus Valley, there were sophisticated water systems that were made with laid bricks to form reservoirs. The houses in Indus valley were connected to a drainage system (Robinson, 2015)
