SCDN (Self-care deficit nursing) is a model that was established by Dorothea Orem. The objective of the theory was to appreciate the SCB (self-care behaviors) in adults with type two diabetes mellitus (T2DM) from Omani. According to the theory, people should take care of their needs that are associated with their development, illness, and T2DM.
The four thoughts integrated into the model are self-care requirements, a therapeutic form of personal care, self-care activities and the ability of the self-care agency to carry out self-care accomplishments (Taylor & Renpenning, 2011). Therefore, Self-care nursing theory identifies adults who suffer from T2DM and are unable to follow self-care requirements. The nurses are consequently, left with no option but to plan, provide and assess suitable self-care administration.
One example of a chronic disease is diabetes mellitus (DM); the disease requires adults to manage their behaviors personally.
