Health Systems, Finances and Global Health
Financing global health and sound health systems are necessary ingredients for the overall wellbeing of the population. The primary objectives in global health may not be achieved in the absence of sufficient funding and desired health systems, which are supported by the prudent use of available resources. Few natural hazards cause more threats in terms of loss of life, social and economic disruptions than the expensive disease outbreaks like severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Ebola, H1N1 influenza, Zika virus infections, and the current Corona Virus disease, among others. This paper will focus on existing health system gaps, ways of addressing the virus of avian flu diseases within the healthcare system, and financing strategies associated with influenza disease.
The bird flu or influenza virus infection rarely infects people, but the possibility of transmission from poultry to humans causes much worry to global health experts. The contact with poultry in terms of open-air markets, unsanitary conditions, undercooked poultry products, and movement of both birds and people, continue to exacerbate the risk of spread of bird flu access different parts of the globe. Thus, it presents challenges because infections in poultry lead to economic loss, and equally, avoiding poultry farming and business is associated with the same outcome of loss of livelihoods and delicacy to communities.
People around the globe are living in a super-system that is highly interconnected to a diversity of subsystems. National interests are linked to the general health of global health. Health is not an isolated item, but it represents an outcome that is determined by education, investment in the human capital, economy, and socio-cultural practices. Outbreaks of infectious diseases like avian influenza can lead to increased morbidity and mortality over a wide geographic area, which results in the economic, social, and political disruption. There is an increased likelihood of pandemic happening in any region of the world, yet this is the time that is characterized by vibrant global ...
