Stages of Life Interview
The different stages of life play a pivotal role in shaping the patient’s perception of health care. There are five well-known stages of life, and in order, they include infancy, childhood, youth, adulthood, and old age. For understanding the influence of age in the health care system from a patient’s perspective, I interviewed my cousin Tabitha to appreciate her experience at the hospital. Tabitha is a bank teller, 26 years of age, and her stage of life is categorized under adulthood, including people between 19 to 65 years. Tabitha is conscious about her health and usually takes yearly visits to her gynecologist for regular examinations.
Do you feel that your stage of life had any effect on your interaction with health care professionals?
According to Tabitha, her stage of life affected her interaction with the health professional. Which areas of the hospital or clinic were most concerned with your well-being and feelings?
Tabitha said that the reception at the hospital was so welcoming as they were always happy to see her whenever she went to get her examinations. She also stated that the hospital was always clean, from the parking area to the hospital’s rooms. Tabitha noted that the hospital has a homely environment as the hospital did not smell medicine and has a good scent. Tabitha also said that the hospital had all the necessities that she needed, including some clean water for drinking, sterile gowns to wear for the examination. According to Tabitha, health professionals, especially gynecology department nurses, are swift when responding to patients’ needs. Those are some reasons she has preferred the sam...
