Why is understanding the health care system at the local level important to consider when planning an EBP implementation?
At the local level, there are unique challenges in the health care system and the evidence-based practice (EBP) needs to be relevant to meet the local health needs where local resources are utilized. Additionally, this helps to improve health outcomes, quality of care reduce cost and achieve equity. Collaboration between the researchers, local healthcare leaders and health practitioners makes it easier to incorporate research findings in clinical settings (Goldstein et al., 2018). Adequate funding and local human resources are important in EBP where changes may be adopted and there is dissemination of evidence. Resources the organizational structure and culture affect how EBP projects are implemented and facilitate the success of these projects.
