Introduction
Respiratory disorders are conditions that affect organs and tissues that are responsible for gaseous exchange. One such disorder is asthma attacks. It is classified as an adverse condition as it is the result of lung irritation (Naff, 2010). This paper focuses on the cause, symptoms, the affected, and treatment of asthma.
Causes
Exposure to certain allergens can cause asthma. These allergens include pollen and dust mites. Irritants such as smoke can also cause asthma. However, some people may be predisposed to these conditions, yet they do not develop the condition (Bellenir, 2006).
Symptoms
The main characteristic of asthma is inflammation of the bronchial tubes coupled with excess production of sticky secretions inside the tubes.
