Six Learning Outcomes of the Course:
1. Analysing the differences between management and leadership to recognize their significance on client care outcomes and the management of groups.
Leadership and management are vital for the delivery of decent healthcare services. Even though the two aspects hold similarities in some respects, they often encompass different kinds of outlooks, behaviors, and skills. Leaders purpose to have visions of what is achievable and then offer communication of this vision to others and develop approaches for the realization of the vision (Stanley & Stanley, 2018). This entails motivating people and negotiating resources and other necessary health support to accomplish their goals. Good management strives to realize good leadership and requires appropriate management skills to ensure effectiveness. Management in health care ensures that available resources for client care outcomes are well systematized and employed effectively for optimal results. In the contemporary health care setting where resources are often constrained, health care managers must have good leadership attributes to realize optimal results.
I managed to accomplish the outcome of analyzing the differences between management and leadership to identify their significance on client care outcomes and the management of groups. This outcome was realized by undertaking research relating to management and leadership in the school library.
2. Assess the impact of inter-and intra-professional teams, delegation, management of conflict, talent and resource management, and priority setting on the operational aspects of health care.
Inter- and intra-professional teams of health care providers ensure the initiation of collaborative processes that help improve client outcomes, particularly in situations where patient acuity is increasing. Management of work environments for quality helps improve outcomes for clients by establishing structures and processes that promote intra-professional collaboration (Fischer & Verran, 2018). Management of health care realizes this by collaboratively developing structures for shared decision-making in various circumstances; establishing democratic and non-hierarchical working practices. Furthermore, structures for shared decision-making in various circumstances accord operational health care environments a proper framework for conflict management and improvement of care outcomes for patients. Proper resource management and priority setting in health care ensure that available resources for client care outcomes are well systematized and employed effectively for best results, especially in the contemporary health care setting where resources are often scarce.
