My proposed solution towards the improvement of the quality of care according to stroke patients is to develop a protocol in the hospital that will entail a recurrent staff education and good communication strategy to help in the reduction of delays.
Every hospital has different protocols when it comes to dealing with stroke patients. As a result, the nurses and other staff will require to be trained regularly to ensure that they are up to date with the current hospital protocols. This training is important because it will help in making sure that the new nurses are aware of what they should do when attending to a stroke patient. Much confusion might arise in a case whereby a new nurse has been allocated a stroke patient together with a nurse who has been working in that hospital for years. The manner in which they attend to such patients differ and therefore, this might result in the creation of more complications to the patient. The training can be best done by holding meetings at the beginning of every month because it is during this time that a hospital is likely to employ new staff. Also, education can also be passed across by sending the new procedures to the email addresses of the concerned staff. During the learning process, the staff will be given time to inquire about any clarifications that they might need (Ring, Howlett, Pennington, Smith, Redley, Murphy & Kelly, 2018).
