Millions of people suffer from avoidable health challenges such as infectious diseases, malnutrition, and childbirth complications. Despite the efforts made by governments in the undeveloped nations, most programs have been unsuccessful. Poverty conditions in the third world countries limit provision of adequate health care. High unemployment rates limit the financial capabilities of most families. Due to lack of adequate funds, paying for medical services become a challenge. The absence of proper government funding results in unsuccessful implementation of public health programs (Population Reference Bureau, 2004). Large populations in third world countries make it difficult for the limited health care facilities to provide sufficient care. Overcrowding and poor housing result in the development of infectious diseases that become difficult to manage (Population Reference Bureau, 2004).
