During class, you have heard one pupil call another a faggot and is showing bullish behavior in front of the class.
The increasing prevalence of homophobic bullying in schools is a threat to the envisioned goal of inclusive education. Inclusive education is where all students have equal access and feel safe in their learning environment without any form of discrimination. Casual homophobic slurs or phrases like "lesbo, "faggot," "dyke," and "that's sooo gay" are increasingly making headways even among age-grade students (Gordon, 2019). Educators, therefore, have a responsibility to respond to this form of bullying to prevent the erosions of inclusivity tenets.
