A PICOT starts with a designated patient population in a particular clinical area and identifies clinical problems or issues that arise from clinical care. The Significance of Continuing Education for Registered Nurses
PICOT Question
What are the benefits of continuing education for registered nurses?
An Overview
A large number of registered nurses and other medical professionals think that it is not possible or compulsory for them to continue their studies right after the completion of their graduation (Price & Reichert, 2017). However, there is nothing like that; once qualified, nurses are allowed to continue their education while performing their duties. Almost all developed states require nurses to complete a specific number of continuing education (CE) hours every year. If a registered fails to complete the CE hours, she will be at the risk of losing her nursing license, and this can destroy her entire career (Creamer & Austin, 2017). If she is unsure of whether she needs CE credits or not, she can check it with a state representative, her senior fellow or the administrator of her hospital.
* P – Patient/Population = Registered nurses who are interested in different continuing education programs
* I – Indicator/Intervention = Self-awareness and time-management are two core interventions/indicators
* C – Control/Comparator = Both experienced and inexperienced nurses can benefit from the continuing education programs
* O – Outcome = Nurses will be able to boost their confidence, can gain more knowledge, and may get promoted to the next level
* T – Timeframe = Two to four years are needed to complete the one-degree program
Evidence-Based Solution
It has now been proved that completing nursing CE credits can help a person stay updated with the current information. In the healthcare industry, a significant number of changes take place almost daily, and new medical equipment, ...
