In the past, the major bane to patients was drug prescription costs. Prescription Drug Benefit has substituted such worries with improved professional services, imaging, and hospital care. Over the last 15 years, there has been a skyrocketing population which has resulted in a 30% cost in drug prescription for every person (Aitken & Berndt, 2015). Such an effect could cost a lot of money to the patients, but the increase in spending in aid of healthcare delivery by the US government of about $ 457 billion by 2015 has increased access to health care services. Since the introduction of the Prescription Drug Benefit in 2006, the cost of medication has decreased significantly due to Medicare insurance premiums.
The significant trend has been notable as a result of prescription drug benefit is reduced cost of healthcare.
