How can you make change happen to decrease suffering and improve health status using nursing and other theories?
Supporting patient-centered care and treating patients as equal improves health status since there is a focus on meeting patient health needs. The emancipatory perspective is linked to power in knowledge development, and nurses are expected to correct injustice and discrimination in nursing practice (Butts & Rich, 2017). Evidence-based practice (EBP) is linked to improved health outcomes, and high-quality health care and empirically driven theories are integrated into practice to improve health status. Corroborating evidence should be prioritized as this informs researchers and health practitioners when providing care to ensure there are positive outcomes (Ryan, 2016). Nursing is a caring professional, and it is expected that the nurses are empathetic and supportive of the patient-centered interventions to improve the quality of life.
