The nursing philosophy provides the nursing values, ethics, and beliefs and highlights the motivation of nurses to be part of the profession. Nurse’s philosophy is ideal for identifying theories that are critical for shaping the choices that nurses make every day. As a nursing practitioner, my fundamental values include kindness, persistence, and honesty, and I strive to succeed in all activities as this is instrumental in promoting satisfaction among all individuals I interact with and help. I believe that nursing should be founded on caring, knowledge, and integrity. Additionally, it is important for every nurse to emphasize patients’ needs, safety, and empowerment. I have a personal commitment towards understanding patients and factors in their environment that can influence the care provided to them; this helps in developing a strong connection with the patients.
A metaparadigm outlines all critical issues in a given discipline. The four concepts of the nursing meta-paradigm include person; this component focuses on the person receiving healthcare. It is, however, critical to understanding that a person’s connection may also include close family members. In this case, the care structure is required to focus on a person’s spiritual, social, and health needs (Nikfarid, Hekmat, Vedad & Rajabi, 2018). The second component is the environment; this examines the factors in one’s surroundings that can have impacts on care delivery. Most importantly, an environment may have internal and external factors, and how an individual interacts with his or her surrounding may influence health and wellness.
