Personal Core Values & Scriptures
Personal values are essential for effective decision making for every individual. The Bible contains various scriptures through which Christians learn how to live and behave. Faith is among the most important values that are taught in the Bible. In my life experience, I have learned that living faithfully by loving and trusting God. The scripture in Deuteronomy 7:9 states, “...the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love...” (Hallowell, 2018). As a Christian, living faithfully to God is one on which most of my other values are predicated. Secondly, I also dwell on showing love to others as among the most significant values. I feel so good when I tend to show love to the lowly ones and those who most need it. Jesus teaches in the scriptures that we should “Be devoted to one another in love...” (Hallowell, 2018). Based on his words, I attributed love to being sincere, caring, and honoring others’ needs above mine. By looking at the scriptural advice, I have found out that loving others is something that Jesus calls us to do. This value is significant because it encapsulates the love of the Almighty to me and the rest of His creation.
