Personal Philosophy of Nursing
My philosophy of nursing has changed significantly after my education in the discipline. It is because I was able to experience it hands-on, rather than just reading off of a book or from some journal. A nurse must reciprocate a transpersonal relationship with their patient (Masters, 2015). They must be able to understand the person they are treating empathetically. While we care for people, we are required to observe them, in profound details, not just their bodily functions, their vitals, or what they say, but also how they feel and what they express in times of distress. We must not see people as just flesh and bones with medical problems but as real, whole people with their vulnerabilities and emotions. My clinical experience was also substantial in shaping my beliefs. My philosophy has molded me to take care of myself and other people because I believe that if I am not doing well, I cannot look after the well-being of others that need me. I must be a reflection of positivity and motivation for them to heal. To free people of the boxes of limitations and rooms, they are confined to, at the hands of their diseases and disorders. My nursing philosophy focuses on building trust, helping others, forming authentic caring relationships, assisting, supporting, and respecting others, selflessly.

My philosophy about nursing unfolded with new each new level I passed in m education and training. Very early on in my career, I had an insight, a sonder. I realized that I must treat people as I want to myself. I also realized that other people have just as complex lives like myself. They need solutions to heal and go back to their routines. It is our duty as nurses to help people get back on their healthy toes.
