Cultural values influence an individual’s ability to understand the conditions of health, the behavior of people, and respective influences to care. In this aspect, having proper cultural knowledge influences how fast I will relate to patients and perceive the diseases affecting them. Being a diverse nurse, I expect to meet people with different preferences and beliefs about their situations. This will influence the direction I take with the care provided. Understanding my clients means I should pay attention to what they like or not, give preference to what they choose, and follow some of the traditions of my various clients. Meeting someone with similar cultural values as mine could be easy to handle. For a broader population and most times of my work, I remain open to the ever-changing concepts defining my nursing career.
