Even as Berg et al (2016) used the Holmes–Rahe Life and Stress Inventory the study also utilized the focus group qualitative research.  The focus group interviews allow interviewer/moderator to solicit the opinions and experiences of the study participants simultaneously (Polit & Beck 2016).  The focus group approach is not only efficient, it facilitates dialogue where those who are willing can share their views or experiences (Polit & Beck 2016). In the study focus group was effective to understanding compassion fatigue and burnout among health practitioners, since the participants’ views and experiences were analyzed to improve health care outcomes.
 Some respondents in the focus group are reluctant to reveal too much information as the approach lacks confidentiality (Polit & Beck 2016).   Similarly, some group members are more likely to be utilized if they dominate the group.
