Early diagnosis of this condition enables the patients and the treatment specialists to develop an approach that best addresses management of this condition. MS affects the central nervous system inflaming the myelin and causing appearance of plaques or lesions (Brodkey, 2011, p. 41). Essentially, early diagnosis of the disease enables the treatment administrators to initiate treatment that modifies the course of the disease, thereby easing some of the symptoms. Drug therapy administered on identification of the symptoms of the disease at an early stage effectively modifies the way the disease occurs. There is great suppression of the symptoms of the disease so that the patient can even experience total recovery from this condition (MS Australia, 2009). It is easy to suppress neuropsychological symptoms, which include memory loss, depression, as well as cognitive difficulties.
