Midterm Exam Reflection Name: Course: Instructor: Date: Midterm Exam Reflection I had my midterm exam on 10 June at 1:30pm. The exam was on practical nursing and throughout the exam; I had some experiences that were both positive and negative. I had thoroughly prepared for the exam and I was confident that I would not have any difficulties. However, this was not to be the case as I panicked even before I started tackling the exam. I was shaking all over although, not everyone could notice and my whole body grew cold. I had anxiety, which was really eating up on my confidence and thus I felt as if I was not adequately prepared to tackle the exam. Things did not get any better the time I started the paper as my mind was already in a state of confusion and some of the basics I had covered in my revision were evaporating from my grasp. The panic led me to a state of disorganization and I could not respond to some of the questions that I was well aware of thus ended in wasting a lot of time to remember. Nevertheless, I tried all that I could to regain my confidence throughout the paper. I felt that I had I been more confident with myself I could have done the exam way better than I did, but this was not the case as I had spent a lot of time worrying on how I would perform. The other thing that I did was guess the answers to the questions I did not fully comprehend. Some of those questions, I did not understand what they were asking for, and that is why I had to apply some guesswork. The influence to my experience was due to my anxiety issues when it comes to exams. I have had a problem of being too anxious and panicking a lot during exams. That day the situation was no better and anxiety took over once I got to the exam setting. The anxiety took a lot from my confidence, much of what I had revised on shortly disappeared, and I was in a state of despair. The other contributor to the situation that made me use guesswork was that I could not comprehend some of the questions as I have a problem with some English words.
