Baby boomers were born slightly after the Second World War. During this period, many Western countries had spikes in birth rates after the devastating effects of the war. The golden generation had experiences with catastrophic economic times, particularly during the 1929-1939 depression. Their primary goal was to either fight hard to avoid being victims of the economic hardship or have their children (baby boomers) succeed in their pursuit of success, happiness, and their rights. Baby boomers experienced economic, civil, political, and social hardships and thus just like their parents strived for excellence and change. The golden generation parents mainly imparted the fighting spirit in their children who not only aimed to overcome their previous statuses but also to effect change in their surrounding and the world. Many of the baby boomers have thus amassed an enormous amount of wealth for themselves.
Unlike the baby boomers, most the parents in the Generation X category grew up when the world had already experienced much of its economic, political, social, and civil strife.
