Choose two of these issues that you think you will need to work on before counseling clients (see pages 28-35). Explain why these are important to you and how you are going to overcome these issues in order to become an effective counselor.

Counselors are faced with diverse issues that affect their interactions with patients. Therefore, it is essential to acquire diverse techniques to deal with the challenges they experience as they aim to assist others. The two main issues that I have chosen are anxiety and avoiding perfectionism. These issues are important to me because they will aid in streamlining my interaction with the client. Dealing with anxiety is vital to ensure that client's needs are addressed. The willingness to identify the anxieties and deal with them is essential for effective work as a counselor. As an individual, I will overcome my anxieties by discussing my doubts with supervisors and colleagues within the organization (Corey, 2017). This will ensure that meaningful exchanges and support are offered to address the factors causing anxiety.
