Institutional affiliation Anemia Anemia is a sickness that is often described as a condition that develops if the body fails to have sufficient red blood cells or hemoglobin as it is popularly known. Hemoglobin is a part of the red blood cells that binds with oxygen. The fewer the red blood cells or hemoglobin the less the oxygen that will be transported to other main organs that rely on oxygen for smooth functioning. Iron Deficiency Anemia is the most common blood condition in the world and affects people worldwide. Those who suffer from chronic illnesses including women and children are at high risk of attracting the condition. The disease is hereditary and children can acquire it at birth (Gupta, Perrine, Mei, & Scanlon, 2016). The elderly are also at high danger of contracting the disease because of poor diet together with other medical complications. Women within the childbearing age are particularly at risk between of the loss of blood during menstruation and the increased demand for blood during pregnancy. Symptoms of Iron Deficiency anemia include; fatigue, weakness, short of breath and at times a fast heart rate. According to the symptoms described by the patient, those are clear indications of Iron Deficiency. The clearest indication is when she states that she aspirins to help ease the pain especially when she is on menstruation. According to a recently concluded research, the main causes of the illness in childbearing women are the increase in the demand for blood during pregnancy and the loss of blood during menstruation. The diagnosis done by the doctor indicates that there are low levels of hemoglobin in the blood.
