Hemoglobin is a part of the red blood cells that binds with oxygen. The fewer the red blood cells or hemoglobin the less the oxygen that will be transported to other main organs that rely on oxygen for smooth functioning. Iron Deficiency Anemia is the most common blood condition in the world and affects people worldwide. Those who suffer from chronic illnesses including women and children are at high risk of attracting the condition. The disease is hereditary and children can acquire it at birth (Gupta, Perrine, Mei, & Scanlon, 2016). The elderly are also at high danger of contracting the disease because of poor diet together with other medical complications. Women within the childbearing age are particularly at risk between of the loss of blood during menstruation and the increased demand for blood during pregnancy. Symptoms of Iron Deficiency anemia include; fatigue, weakness, short of breath and at times a fast heart rate.
