Essay Instructions:

Using the online Library or the Internet, research about homeostasis. Based on your research and understanding, provide your response to the following tasks:
Analyze the feedback mechanisms that maintain homeostasis, and what happens when these systems do not function appropriately. Provide two specific examples for each.
Provide the organizational levels in order, beginning at the atom. Then, analyze how each level relates to specific functions and to each other.
Evaluate metabolism, anabolism, and catabolism. Then, distinguish them by providing an example for each of these and the end result for that reaction.
Analyze and define internal and external respiration in terms of physiology and anatomy.

Analyze the feedback mechanisms that maintain homeostasis and what happens when these systems do not function appropriately. Provide two specific examples for each.
Homeostasis is maintained by negative feedback loops within the organism. In contrast, positive feedback loops push the organism further out of homeostasis but may be necessary for life to occur. The nervous and endocrine systems control homeostasis in mammals. Homeostasis is the body's ability to maintain and regulate its internal conditions. Homeostasis is essential to ensure the body's proper functioning. If the internal conditions are poorly regulated, the individual can suffer damage to organs or even death. Homeostasis is maintained by the negative feedback loops. One example of the negative feedback loop is stimulus, sensor, control, and effector. Positive feedback loops push an organism out of homeostasis n unlike negative feedback loops but are essential for life. One example of the positive feedback loop is when the body temperature rises above the normal body temperature. The blood vessels dilate, and there is heat loss where sweat glands secrete fluid, and as the fluid evaporates, heat is lost from the body to the environment. In the human body, the brain has a temperature regulatory system and sweat glands to facilitate body temperature regulation.
Provide the organizational levels in order, beginning at the atom. Then, analyze how each level relates to specific functions and each other. The organization's levels are atom, molecule, cell, tissue, organ, organ system, organism, population, community, ecosystem, and biosphere.
* Atoms are the smallest particles of elements and are bioelements that are classified according to their function, and the oxygen atom is a common type of atom
* Molecule: different combinations of similar or different atoms form molecules. Molecules can be organized into more complex structures, such as amino acids or proteins and water molecules.
* Cell: the smallest structural unit of living beings capable of functioning independently. Each cell has chemical support for heredity (DNA), a chemical system to acquire energy, etc.
* Tissue: it is a group of cells that perform a certain function, such as cardiac muscle tissue.
* Organs: it is a group of cells or ti...
