In health administration, the practices and principles of ethics translate into usable information that can be applied in the real world of health administration. Ethic in health administration is also based on practice-based ethics, where an individual is supposed to use ethical practices in decision-making processes. George D. Pozgar’s book translated principles of ethics into usable information that can be applied in the real world of health care administration (Pozgar, 2010). The principles of ethics are also based on a model that focuses on the role of the administrator in practice-based ethics and factors that influence their ethical decision-making processes. The author has also used fictional cases that can occur in the real-world in order to put emphasis on the context of each chapter.
Ethical dilemmas that have legal implication may occur in a healthcare setting. When analyzing the merits and challenges of medical procedures, bioethicists usually focus on four fundamental principles’ of health care ethics. This implies that medical practice can only be considered as ethical if it respects the four principles, which include autonomy, beneficence, justice, and non-maleficence. The use of reproductive technology usually raises a number of issues with each of the four factors.
