Computerized Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Computerized Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is an effective way of evaluating the effectiveness of the various interventions use to assist adults with their depressive disorders. This has also been found to be effective even for the women that are suffering from the post-partum depression along with other forms of the depression. When coupled with PHQ-9 tools, it is possible to evaluate the severity of depression that a patient is experiencing (American Association of Colleges of Nursing). At the same time using the two approaches it is possible to evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention that has been used. These approaches are evaluated against Essentials III and IV of The Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice (2006). Essential III relates to Clinical Scholarship and Analytical Methods for Evidence-Based Practice, while Essential IV relates to Information Systems/Technology and Patient Care Technology for the Improvement and Transformation of Health Care.

With reference to the Essential III, it is crucial to understand that, research and scholarships form the basis the doctoral education (American Association of Colleges of Nursing). This has continually evolved through the development of new knowledge within the field along with shifting paradigms. As such there are aspects of the paradigms associated with discovery and integration, giving meaning to isolated facts and there is the element of applying knowledge to solve problems ("Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) - How it works - NHS Choices", 2017). Using the combination of both CBT and PHQ-9 tools, it is going to be possible to enhance the integration of the new possibilities relative to the new knowledge presented.
