Instructions for Recommendation for Electronic Healthcare Records System
As an adjunct faculty member in the university nursing program you have been asked by the dean to conduct brief evaluation of the options for simulated electronic healthcare records to incorporate into the informatics class for BSN students. The dean has chosen 5 vendors products. You have been asked to view the product information on the vendors’ websites and make a recommendation about the software that would be the best fit for the undergraduate program. A brief comparison chart has been provided, but you will still need to view the product on the website for its basic features and details.
Items you want to consider are:
1) How current the product development is?
2) Is the content realistic for actual practice?
3) Ease of use for students? Think about the students’ level of experience and knowledge as well as the instructors’ needs.
4) Supportive resources (such as additional reinforcement materials for students, access to IT help with the software?
5) Is there a separate fee for a textbook if required?
6) How long is the student license for?
7) How is the cost for students?
8) Who designed the content? What is their background?
9) Think of other considerations for your recommendation.
Once you have evaluated the products, complete a memo to the dean recommending your choice based on your research. You should address the items above/and those on the comparison chart. Try a Google search for any missing or additional information you think is important. Your memo should be about a page and half with citation of any research sources (for example, the website link or the documents/results retrieved in your Google search). The memo doesn’t not have to been in APA format but the citations should be. Your memo recommendation is due on or before Sun. of week 6 by 11:59 pm submitting in the designate assignment link. A memo form has been provided for you to use.
