The Dravet Syndrome Foundation (DSF) announced that a new coding system for Dravet would be included in the ICD-10 through the National Center for Health Statistics. The codes were made official on October 1, 2020, due to the decision made by specialists in Dravet Syndrome, including medical professionals from the Dravet Syndrome Foundation and its Medical Advisory board. The new codes for the ICD-10 are G40.83 DS, G40.833 DS intractable with status epilepticus, and G40.834 DS intractable without status epilepticus.
