Operations management in the healthcare system entails a multidisciplinary engagement in the managing of health care, along with other business aspects of finance and marketing. Thus, I perceive the responsibilities of health care managers to include planning, management, and control of the organizational activities (Leggat, 2015). Operations management is facilitated by the use of materials and labor or other forms of inputs, which are used effectively and efficiently to foster the success of the organization. Hence, the operations manager has to ensure that the input resources are utilized efficiently with minimal wastage, leading to increased efficiency of the workforce.
