Coronavirus continues to be a significant public health concern globally. Since January 2020, when the first case of COVID-19 infection was reported in the USA, over 100,000 people have died, and 2 million and above individuals are infected with the virus. Girls and women have a higher incidence of 406 cases/100,000 than boys and men with 401 cases/100,000 (Kaplan, 2020).
Based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR), COVID-19 rate of infections has not dwindled as it was expected. As the government and health institutions continue to emphasize the importance of washing hands, sanitizing, and disinfecting homes regularly, approximately 1 in 3 adults use these chemicals unsafely while trying to safeguard themselves from coronavirus (Gharpure et al., 2020).
The World Health Organization (WHO) depicts that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to enter more nations and territories. As of today, the new record of coronavirus infections worldwide stands at over 8 million (WHO, 2020). Although technology companies have come up with applications to assist the government in contact tracing, it appears that many people are likely to be infected in the coming months.
