Community health nursing aims at providing healthcare in a community by using evidence-based research to improve individuals' health. Community health nurses usually consider the socio-economic and cultural backgrounds of the given community when administering health services. Shiree, a community health nurse educator, working at an army base, has many responsibilities in her hands. Most of her clients have various illnesses such as posttraumatic stress disorder, amputation, and heart disease. In this case, educating the soldiers on matters concerning their health is a necessity for their wellbeing.

Shiree needs to determine the client's emotional readiness to understand the client's strengths and weaknesses.
